Hello and welcome to my blog. The name’s Velvet and I have anxiety and depression. What’s yours?
I started this blog for one purpose: Writing freely. About the good, the bad, the “I don’t know what I’m feeling”, and anything in between. And unfiltered. Writing about what I’m feeling helps me get it out of my mind and just leave it on paper (for the most part). My thoughts may be all over the place and I might not make sense sometimes. But if you’re like me, with a wandering mind full of everything and nothing at the same time, you might understand. And if you don’t, that’s ok too. My aim is not to attract people to pity me. Rather, it’s to talk about my mental health and what I’m doing to help myself, but also allow myself to feel what I’m feeling. And eventually get to the point where I say “I’m feeling sad” instead of “I am sad” to try and separate the negative feeling from my identity. Which in turn may help you, too, if that’s what you’re looking for. But please don’t let this replace actual therapy and professional help. Medication and therapy is ok. If you can’t do both, choose what you can afford that will help you the most. If you can’t afford either of them, please look for ways your area helps low income or those close to or in poverty. There are resources out there, I promise.
